Cacomistle or the ringtail (Bassariscus astutus) is a mammal of the raccoon family native to arid regions of North America.
The real animal can be found in many US states, from California in the west to the borders of Louisiana in the east. To the north, they are distributed as far as Oregon, Wyoming and Kansas.
